How to play with friends

The official guide describes nickname-based friends and room invitations. Prepare everyone on the same original game before starting:

  1. Open the original site and check the account. Use a game account when relying on cloud progress or server-relayed connections. The developer identifies sign-in as a requirement for its relay fallback.
  2. Confirm the nickname with your friend. Keep account passwords private; exchanging a nickname does not require sharing a login.
  3. Add the friend and check Friends. If nothing appears, first verify the name and whether the request or invitation was received.
  4. Invite the friend to a room. Check that the expected players have joined before starting; the group limit is four.
  5. After the run, check Save before changing devices. Multiplayer participation is not itself proof that a pending cloud upload completed.

The game's guide describes shared experience and reviving teammates by staying beside them. Room setup and in-run cooperation are distinct from whether each player's progress has reached the cloud.

Identify where the connection fails

SymptomFirst observation to record
Friend cannot be foundExact nickname, original site and whether the request was received
Invitation never arrivesWho invited whom and which screen each person is on
Room opens but keeps reconnectingHost, affected player, network type and exact message
Run displays a waiting messageWhether all players see it and whether it later resumes
Only one player's progress looks wrong afterwardThat player's account, Save status and last successful device sync

This table narrows the question; it does not identify a network fault from a message alone. Do not assume an invitation problem is a server outage or that a save mismatch is a multiplayer bug.

A controlled retry sequence

Before reloading or changing who hosts, preserve progress and record any Save error. Avoid repeatedly restarting an active group run while another player is still playing.

When everyone is safely back at the menu, agree on one fresh invitation and note the outcome. If it still fails, change one condition at a time: try a different host or, if practical, another connection. Record which change helped rather than claiming that a single retry proved the cause.

Do not disable security protections, open arbitrary router ports or install unofficial “connection fixes” just because a forum comment suggests them. Those actions are not necessary to follow this checklist.

Current relay and waiting behavior

Older comments about relay availability can be out of date. The developer has since documented account-based server fallback and later improvements to connection recovery. A temporary waiting state is therefore something to observe and report, not automatic proof that the room is permanently lost.

Check the current official news and our November update summary for the dated context. Developer-reported fixes do not guarantee that every router, mobile network or third-party wrapper behaves identically. We have not measured connection quality or completed a multiplayer gameplay test.

Save checks and a useful error report

If the group connects but tickets are missing later, use the save and sync checklist before treating it as a room issue. Keep gameplay changes on one device at a time while comparing balances.

For a persistent connection problem, prepare:

  • Date, time zone, browser/device and the exact game address.
  • Group size, who hosted and which players were affected.
  • The stage where it failed and the exact error text.
  • Wi-Fi or mobile-data context, and whether a single-host-change test differed.
  • A redacted screenshot and whether the problem still occurs after checking current notices.

Do not publish credentials, tokens, private save contents or personal network details. Check the developer's issue tracker for an existing report or use the support route linked from the game.
