PokéSurvivor on Mobile and 3DS: Which Version Are You Playing?

Play the original game on a phone
- Open pokesurvivor.com in your browser and turn the phone to landscape.
- Sign into the intended game account if you want cloud progress. The developer warns that guest play is not saved; do not treat a guest session as a backup.
- Check movement and move selection before starting a long run. Drag to move and tap a move icon to select it. Settings → Controls lets you position buttons.
- For a home-screen shortcut, look for Add to Home Screen or the installation option offered by your browser. Menu names and availability vary by browser and operating system.
- Before switching devices, use the game's Save control and read the result. Installing a shortcut does not prove that an upload succeeded.
The shortcut opens the browser game's installation, rather than making it the same product as a third-party native APK. The November 2 developer announcement also addresses which cached version the installed game uses offline; it is not a guarantee that all account operations work offline.
Which edition are you using?
These are maintainer descriptions checked on November 4, 2026, not installation or performance tests by Picks.
| Project | Where to identify it | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Original browser game by JPTER78 | pokesurvivor.com and its official references | Browser controls, game accounts and cloud progress; original online co-op supports up to four |
| JayElDragon Android/PC port | Author's GitHub Releases; V6.2 checked | Native port with its own modes and save-code instructions; its README describes offline play without online features |
| Tomakoku 3DS/2DS port | Pokesurvivor-port-n3ds; v1.13 checked | Its own console release; the author documents a web-to-console save merge from v1.10 |
| Dan Franza / DF 3DS port | port-3ds-danfranza branch and its separate launcher repository | Its documentation describes two-console local co-op and a console save; cloud saves are not included |
The DF documentation describes community-server support but says real-console co-op still needs testing. A project having server code does not establish that a public server is available. Its launcher and game also have separate version identifiers.
Can browser and port saves be transferred?
Check the exact project's documentation. “All ports share the original cloud account” and “no port can ever import a browser save” are both unsafe assumptions.
- Original browser game: follow the account and Save checks. Account-based synchronization is different from importing a file into another program.
- Tomakoku: the README documents a web-to-3DS merge beginning with v1.10 and a pre-merge console backup. This is an author-documented import path, not proof of continuous two-way cloud synchronization. Read the current instructions before using it; preserve the original copies.
- JayElDragon: V6.2 release notes discuss save codes and pasting save.json contents. That does not, by itself, establish compatibility with the official game's cloud account or arbitrary browser exports.
- DF: its console documentation lists a local save and excludes cloud saves. Do not enter original-game credentials expecting automatic transfer.
Picks does not import, convert or restore any of these saves. We have not tested a migration. Do not post credentials, authentication tokens or private save contents in a public help request.
Why are an item, event or boss different?
First compare the edition, not just the Pokémon in the screenshot. Jay's V6.2 notes describe a switchable Halloween mode; that is separate from the original browser game's dated event. DF documents a console-specific black market and a different run length. Neither establishes a new feature in JPTER78's current browser game.
For example, seeing an unfamiliar item on a 3DS screenshot is a reason to ask for the repository and version. It is not evidence that an original-game item is missing from your account. This is an editorial identification example, not a diagnosis of that screenshot.
Where should you get a port or its updates?
Use the maintainer's project page to check release notes, compatible devices and update instructions:
- JayElDragon Releases: Android/PC packages and dated changes.
- Tomakoku README and releases: console requirements and the documented transfer procedure.
- DF console documentation and DF launcher: game and updater instructions.
Picks does not host installation packages or certify their safety or compatibility. Keep the game's version and launcher's version distinct when asking about an update. Read the author's save-preservation instructions before replacing an installation.
Reporting a crash or connection problem
Include the project URL, release or branch, device model, exact message and the action immediately before the failure. State whether the problem occurs in solo or co-op and whether it repeats. A 3DS Arceus crash report is not automatically evidence of a browser-game fault.
For original-game questions, use the game's support route or official issue tracker. For a port-specific failure, use that maintainer's issue tracker. Our co-op guide covers the original room flow, and Rifts & Bonds explains the original move-linking system.
Sources and scope
Original gameplay guide and developer news support the browser instructions. The comparison uses Jay's V6.2 release, Tomakoku's README and the DF documentation linked above. These are dated source checks, not hands-on installation, migration or hardware tests.
