PokéSurvivor Rifts and Bonds: Combine Your Moves

Rules checked · By PokéSurvivor Picks

From a rift to a Bond

  1. Find the rift on the map. Follow the game's appearance notice rather than a timer copied from another edition.
  2. Enter the separate arena. Check its type and terrain before moving toward the legendary. Water can slow movement, ice changes footing, and lava burns.
  3. Defeat the legendary. The official reference lists coins, tickets, orbs and a Bond among the victory rewards. Losing sends you back to the map without that reward.
  4. Read the Bond choices. Choose the first move, then the move to join to it. Read the displayed names before confirming, especially on a touch screen.
  5. Select the resulting group during play. Its linked moves share a slot. Other, unlinked slots still need to be selected separately.

In the original co-op mode, the team enters the rift together. A connection interruption is a separate issue; use the co-op checks if entering or waiting fails.

Active move, Bond and evolution are different

SystemWhat you are choosingWhat it does
Active slotA move or linked group on the move barDetermines the currently selected attack or group
BondMoves to combine after earning the rewardPuts linked moves together in one slot
Move evolutionA move's golden upgrade after its requirements are metImproves that move; it does not link separate slots

On PC, the original guide lists 1–4 or Q/E for changing the active move. On a phone, tap its icon. Check a held item that prevents switching before assuming the Bond is broken.

The evolution checklist handles move levels and required run cards. A ready evolution does not replace the Bond reward, and buying another starting move does not join it to the first one.

A two-move slot example

This is an editorial diagram of the slot change, not a tested build or a recommendation for particular moves:

MomentSlot ASlot BYour next decision
Before linkingMove AMove BChoose which separate move is active
After joining B to AMove A + Move BFreed slotSelect the linked group, or fill the freed slot later

The + in this diagram means “joined together.” It is not the + suffix used in evolved move names. Read the group's icons and the individual move names to tell the two apart.

This example explains the slot arrangement. It does not mean every linked effect has the same cooldown, that every available combination is equally useful, or that all four slots become active.

What if there is no second move to join?

The checked game bundle includes a notice that the Bond is saved while you learn another move. If that notice appears, read it before concluding that the reward vanished. A Bond choice needs eligible moves; selecting an unrelated level-up card is not confirmation that a link was made.

For an unexpected choice, record the moves you had before the reward and the exact prompt afterward. The October 27 developer announcement describes a touch-selection correction, but it does not diagnose every new report.

Is there a reliable rift timer?

The official guide describes rifts as rare appearances. That description does not establish a fixed wait for your next portal. This page does not provide a countdown or promise that a rift will appear at a particular minute.

Keep rift battles separate from Arceus's Judgment at 30 minutes. Judgment is a later stage with an invincible pursuer; it is not another ordinary rift victory that you can treat as a guaranteed Bond farm.

If the arena or graphics behave unexpectedly

One player reported invisible attacks and scenery after leaving a rift in issue 394. That is a player report, not a confirmed general fault or a verified fix.

Record the game address, browser, version if shown, whether you were in co-op, and what happened before and after leaving. Avoid clearing site data as a first step. If progress also looks wrong, follow the save checks before changing devices.
